Elephant

Lord Narasimhadeva is the remover of obstacles for the devotees and according to the Padma Purana, it is by His mercy only that Lord Ganesha obtains the capability to remove the obstacles on the path to progress in the material world. In the Brahma Samhita, Lord Brahma also confirms this fact by mentioning that Ganapati carries on his tumuli (tusks) the lotus of feet of Govinda in order to carry out the function of removing obstacles.
