Balepet is at the beginning of Bangalore, the same was named as Bengaluru Bagilu(Door of Bangalore). Lord Narasimha used to protect the entire city. Hence the people of Bangalore started to call this deity Balebagilu Narasimha (Narasimha of Balebagilu)
